Who Martha Marx is
A nurse for over forty years who raised four kids, Martha Marx sees firsthand how medical bills have skyrocketed and understands how hard things are for many Connecticut families as costs continue to rise. She will continue to be an outspoken voice who takes on the big health insurance companies to make health care affordable for all of us.
Martha is a strong supporter of our veterans. She took on the big insurance companies to make sure they cover treatment and care for veterans and helped pass a property tax exemption for veterans who are 100 percent disabled.
Martha fought to provide free school breakfast for kids and eliminated the tax on school supplies, and she will continue to focus on lowering costs for local families.
Martha wants to make retiring in Connecticut more affordable. That’s why she led efforts to expand the income tax exemption on pensions and kept Social Security tax-free.
