Who Christine Cohen is
Christine Cohen is a state senator and owns Cohen’s Bagel Company. In Hartford, Christine stands up for our values. When Trump cut funding to Connecticut, Christine helped find a way to protect our state and towns from Trump’s devastating budget cuts. She led the fight to expand access to reproductive care, and she is taking on the Silicon Valley companies that use personal data to maximize profits and prey on our kids. In the State Senate, Cohen will continue to fight to lower costs, invest in our schools and towns, and to stop data centers from being built in Connecticut.
Helped to improve healthcare and make it more affordable in Connecticut, voting to make it easier to access life-saving cutting edge treatments like gene therapy, cap prescription drug price increases, and make it easier to import generic drugs from Canada to increase competition and drive down costs. Christine also voted to invest in nursing and social worker training and to expand dental coverage for veterans in need.
Worked to make historic investments in education and our public schools, working with Democrats and Republicans to invest hundreds of millions more in Connecticut public schools, lowering class sizes and allowing schools to attract the best and brightest teachers, with investments that also help towns and school districts avoid property tax increases.
Christine Cohen is fighting back against risinggrocery prices. Connecticut was just the second state to ban surveillance pricing at grocery and big box stores. This means that can't use your internet search history, purchase history, or other personal data to charge some people more than their neighbors for certain products just to maximize their own profits. Grocery stores have been using surveillance pricing to charge certain people more for eggs, milk, and other essentials based on personal data.
